The Unisys Security Index measures concerns of consumers on issues related to national, personal, financial and Internet security around the world.

Unisys surveyed eight security threats in 13 countries. Globally, concern remains at the highest level since the survey began in 2007. The index, which measure security on a scale of 0 to 300, remained at 173 – the same level as 2017 and a 19 percent increase on the index score since 2014.

Highlights from the Unisys Security Index survey in the U.S. include:

• U.S. respondents are more concerned about online threats such as identity theft (with 61 percent seriously concerned) and bankcard fraud (with 59 percent seriously concerned) than those seriously concerned about potential physical harm related to terrorism (57 percent) or a natural disaster or epidemic (47 percent).
• A large majority of U.S. respondents registered some level of concern related to the security of election voting systems being compromised.
• Two-thirds of Americans are willing to trust facial recognition technology to identify them as a security precaution for air travel border crossings.
