The Unisys Security Index measures concerns of consumers on issues related to national, personal, financial and Internet security around the world.
Unisys surveyed eight security threats in 13 countries: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Philippines, U.K., and U.S.
Globally, concern remains at the highest level since the survey began in 2007. The index, which measure security on a scale of 0 to 300, remained at 173 – the same level as 2017 and a 19 percent increase on the index score since 2014.
Consumers around the world also registered the highest level concerns related to online threats like identity theft and bankcard fraud, showing greater anxiety about these threats than physical ones like terrorism or natural disasters.
